MARRAKECH : Avant il y avait la Sardaigne, puis l’Afrique et Lisbonne, Venise enfin Marrakech. Tous des refuges lumineux pour travailler dans le meme contexte: une Medina nomade.

CURRICULUM (FR-EN)

Mon parcours artistique peut être résumé par la rencontre avec deux maîtres et un producteur iraniens qui ont changé ma vie.

Abbas Kiarostami (réalisateur, poète et photographe) père du cinéma iranien d’auteur. Seifollah Samadian (mentionné au world press photo award, fondateur du magazine Tassvir) et Ramin Rafi Rasme, producteur iranien auprès des Agences des Nation Unies.

Ils m’ont donné l’opportunité de participer au film de Abbas Kiarostami ABC Africa présenté en 2001 au festival de Cannes. Après cette expérience, j’ai publié un livre sur le film de Kiarostami avec des photos, (à bref en publication ebook). Il a été partiellement traduit et publié avec les photos par le magazine iranien Tassvir, édition Les Meilleures Photos de 2001. A partir de ce moment-là je me suis consacrée totalement aux arts visuels sans abandonner pour autant l’écriture.

J’ai participé, entre autres, à la Biennale de Venise en 2007, à deux éditions du Festival de la photographie de Téhéran, à la première édition du Festival de la photographie de Rome. J’ai participé à des expositions collectives et, en 2013, à un solo show, à Paris, dans la galerie MetanoÏa avec le titre EVERY FLOWER HAS A SECRET.

En Mars 2015, Maroc, première participation à une exposition collective Selfie auprès du MMP+ de Marrakech.

Le 13 Juillet 2015, une des mes photos a été exposé parmi les gagneurs au Musée Louvre de Paris dans The Vth Annual Photography Award: Exposure De Septembre 2015 est sur Amazon le ebook (édition italienne): Tapis Roulant, altre voci su Marrakech – sei mesi una città. 

Le 5 Decembre 2015 – solo show: autour des dromadaires – VILLA SHIRAZ – Marrakech. 

Le 6/7/8 Octobre 2016 participe comme unique italienne à l’expo internationale LES NUITS PHOTOGRAPHIQUES D’ESSAOUIRA avec une projection photos et musique (du Maître Richard Horowitz). En novembre 2016 réalise le vidéo Entre terre et Mer pour l’artiste algérienne Linda Bougherara qui expose son installation à la COP22 (conférence mondiale du climat) de Marrakech avec le groupe Africa Arkane.

Le 24 décembre a participé à la vente aux enchères de MAZAD & ART chez Sofitel de Marrakech. Cotation Artprice.com

En 2016 participation à deux concours internationaux: PREMIO COMEL(Italie), FOCUS IRAN 2 (Usa) Il y a beaucoup des photos qui sont dans des collections entre Bordeaux, Tehran, Londres, Paris, Rome, Milan, Salento, Venise, Perth, Ibiza, Marrakech, Rabat.

En 2016 on a commencé des collaborations artistiques avec le magasins de décor: Atelier Monti à Rome

Mes photos sont signées BIES. Je signe mes travaux d’écriture de mon vrai nom Benedetta Scatafassi. Les vidéos comme BENESCAT et les objets d’art et autres créations sont signés chaque fois avec un signe different et SB.

Lives and works in Marrakech and Rome, sharing some time in Venice and Lisbon. For her, the visual arts are just a scripting language.

Every flower has a secret exhibition was the first experiment of a new route through manipulation of images. A new story, a virtual stonemason who tries to bring photography to sculpture.

She has exhibited several times in Rome. Then in London, Tehran and other italian places. She participated to the Venice Biennale in 2007. She participated to the International Festival of Photography in Rome in 2010. She has exhibited at the international festival of photography independent of Tehran in 2013.

From 2014 she lives in Morocco and, among others, she participated to the international exhibition in MMP+ at Marrakech and Les Nuits Photographiques d’Essaouira. In 2016 she showed his first photo-tapestry at Mazad&Art auction at Sofitel in Marrakech.

In 2017 participation at the MPA 2017 – MAGHREB PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS.

In 2018 a video experience without a script: LET’S GET LOST is screened in Los Angeles at the Farhang Foundation’s competition. In 2018 also the realization of a documentary: UNA VERA ILLUSIONE on a photographer of Vogue America (Gianni Penati) during the period of Diana Vreeland. In Morocco I participated in a film without screenplay experience of Hamid Farjad and Medhi El Azzam as a photographer and actress. At the same time I did a backstage-fiction film without a script. Both films are in fase of editing.

There are many photos that are in collections between Bordeaux, Tehran, London, Paris, Rome, Milan, Salento, Venice, Perth, Ibiza, Marrakech, Rabat.

Since 2000 she collaborates with master Iranian filmmakers and photographers Abbas Kiarostami (+) and Seifollah Samadian.She collaborates with iranian Oscar Award artist Babak Karimi. In Morocco she has collaborated with american master composer Richard Horowitz and algerian artist Linda Bougherara, iranian filmaker Hamid Fardjad

She has published books and Cinema storyboard signing with her real name. She signs photographs BIES, videoinstallations BENESCAT, Art creations are signed in different ways and SB.
